Just to point out some guest stars! / Nature IS what it gives us!

    Roseata Spoonbill - SQO's Shaman - ask us about the tale; it's inspiring and our daily thought.

 

    Atlantic Dolphin - frequent guests at SQO. Our most common visitor is "Notch", he travels with 2 grey pelicans and they all hunt together for years!

 

    River Otter - The quiet creatures across the bay, frequently mistaken as turtle's locally. That's their style, prankster's!

 

   Manatee - SQO's baby was born at the dock May 25, 2008. She's a treasure! And thus her name is BOOTY! How do we know she's a she, Mermaid Legend and Mere Image!

 

    White Pelican - Our wintering seasonal guests during the months of November - April. This is not a well documented species and great fun for us at SQO to learn about, please share what you learn (they are among our favorite lessons) as we are studying them while their "crossing our waters."

 

    Bald Eagle - We have 3 resident eagle and 2 juveniles who nest and hunt around the property daily.

 

  Turtles - Facing an uncertain future, but often visible on a paddle from SQO.

 

We have a diverse collection of wildlife here at SQO, one we could not imagine as descendants from Colorado where our passion derives from, but every day is spectacular observing and learning opportunity of the land. We hope to share that with you, but do not guarantee sightings as that is up to mother nature, this is just a sample of what we've been blessed with seeing. We are happy to share all that we are learning over the past 4 years and the library of books we carry to enhance your next venture with us or others!
